Team Leader - Architecture, Disneyland Resort Facility Asset Management Architecture & Facilities Engineering

This role leads a team of architects and facility designers that support project work at the Disneyland Resort. This Owners Representative role provides technical architectural expertise in collaboration with facility engineering disciplines to complete design and construction projects. The Team Leader will also develop architectural resources and expertise needed to meet current and future Resort demands.

You Will:

Lead a team of architects and facility designers responsible for developing technical designs that meet our client’s requirements of quality, budget, and schedule with excellent communication. Lead and manage the overall group direction and workload through architects and facility designers as direct reports. Build relationships with our Facility Operations Services (FOS) clients; Facility Asset Management, Engineering Services, Global Engineering & Technology, Operations, Entertainment, and Walt Disney Imagineering to ensure work is being prioritized correctly. Partner with peer managers & leaders within the FAM A&FE team to develop strong relationships and leverage resources to drive consistency and optimization of workload. Lead the team to develop staffing plans and recruiting. Mentor architects and facility designers on career development, technical efforts, training and workflow. Provide resource loading, budget development, and management of the department. Establish regular reporting to monitor progress of workload, resources, and budgets. Accountable for cast member performance management process. This position would be leading a team of between 9 and 12 Cast Members. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Architecture, Civil and Structural Engineering.

You Have:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in architecture

  • 3 years of confirmed Leadership experience of technical groups and multidiscipline teams

  • Consistent record of strong leadership and administrative skills

  • Proven record of strategic and tactical thinking with good coaching abilities

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Prior experience in multi-faceted architectural design

  • Experience in developing alternative design solutions that can be implemented while facilities remain operational with limited access

  • Experience and ability to work in the field, gather relevant data, assess current condition of facility and develop design repair details to prolong an assets life

  • Demonstrated knowledge on state and federal regulatory requirements including California Building Codes and safety codes, interpretation and application of codes on various project types

  • Experience in Environmental Sustainability regulation, design materials, systems, standards and application on projects

  • Familiarity with Owners Representative role and applying technical skills and experience to support operations and maintenance objectives of an operating environment

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other 3D modeling software.

Required Qualifications:

Professional Architecture License - California

Required Education:

BArch from an accredited Institution or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in California is $123,000.00 to $165,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
