The Walt Disney Company Paralegal in Bristol, Connecticut

  • Draft contracts and/or other legal documents, ranging from standard to highly complex, for attorney review and approval, with a high degree of competence, knowledge, legal judgment and drafting skill.

  • Conduct legal issue identification and analysis and legal risk assessment at a high para-professional level.

  • Manage document flow, respond to request for documents and document status, and enters language and other information into databases.

  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • 3 years of applicable legal experience

  • Contract and transactional experience;

  • New media and digital experience;

  • Excellent analytical skills;

  • Highly-skilled in Microsoft Office;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to consistently solve problems with a high degree of independent decision-making;

  • Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and must be highly team-oriented;

Comprised of Disney’s international media businesses and the Disney’s various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Company’s global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world. This segment is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer businesses globally. DTCI Technology is responsible for worldwide linear and digital media distribution, design and development of consumer-facing digital products, advertising technology, consumer data platforms and international broadcast operations.

DTCI Technology Legal is part of the Legal Department of The Walt Disney Company and provides legal advice to DTCI Technology. This role will support the Software Engineering group within DTCI Technology.

The paralegal position carries out a range of duties under the supervision of two or more attorneys on the DTCI Technology Legal team. The successful candidate will assist DTCI Technology Legal’s attorneys with all aspects of technology-based business, including intellectual property and contracts, compliance, privacy, and by working with the business leads and other professionals in the legal department. This job will include drafting legal correspondence and legal documents; drafting contracts, assisting with tracking and maintaining legal documents; assisting with due diligence related to transactional matters; and assisting the team with other special projects as may be necessary from time to time.
