The Walt Disney Company Music Contract Administrator (Walt Disney Pictures) in Burbank, California

Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Productions is seeking a a Contract Administrator to provide support to the Music Business Affairs & Legal Counsel Department.. This position will review and summarize contracts for music rights and obligations, timing of payments and coordinate and track deal and payment information with Music BA/Legal and Music Production, interface directly with business executives to review contract and coordinate with accounting departments at agencies and management companies. The position requires someone with a high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals and highly confidential information. The position requires someone with strong analytical and communications skills with a curiosity and eagerness to take on new projects and work on new systems to streamline processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Music BA/Legal and Music Production departments to coordinate contractual music obligations for the Disney live action productions (theatrical and SVOD releases), Disney animated films and series and the Pixar animation films and series; assisting with other non-Disney productions, if necessary.

  • Track the progress of music-related Animation and Live action projects in development and production.

  • Liaison with the Music BA/Legal and Music Production departments regarding the status of agreements and the delivery of key documentation to ensure payments are made on time.

  • Coordinate payments for Music BA/Legal and Music Production and respond to external inquiries.

  • Obtain and review required documents for payment (tax forms, I-9 Forms, etc.) and prepare payment authorizations and payment schedules for above-the-line music talent and facilitate timely and accurate payments as they come due.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of systems for easy distribution of reports and data to the appropriate stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated relevant experience at a major television/motion picture studio

  • Able to multi-task with attention to detail

  • Strategic thinking

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and database systems such as SAP and cloud document management software such as NetDocuments

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $63,400 to $85,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
