Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for TWDC, encompassing all aspects of music monetization: Recorded Music (Walt Disney and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally; and also licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming and consumer products.

Job Summary:

Reporting to a Finance Manager for Disney Music Group (DMG) - this position’s primary responsibility is the financial reporting, planning and analysis for Disney Concerts. Additional responsibilities will also include providing analytical and data support to drive business development, various business analyses, and ad hoc projects. This position is ideal for a candidate who possesses strong analytical and technical capabilities and is looking to build process management skills. Across all responsibilities, this Senior Financial Analyst role will be challenged to develop and improve processes and models.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

You would join a collaborative team performing financial responsibilities for DMG, including budgeting, forecasting, project modeling, and variance analysis. You will drive collaborative efforts with other Finance, Concerts, and Accounting professionals.

Duties include:

  • Responsible for the compilation and analysis of the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly forecast & close, and 5-Year strategic planning for Disney Concerts and Licensing.

  • Collaborate with both internal finance team members and accounting to improve Concerts planning process, actualize models, and validate forecasting assumptions.

  • Work closely with Concerts / Business Affairs team on creating Produced Concerts P&L Budgets.

  • Prepare Concerts summary, and various deep dive analyses for Senior Management.

  • As the lead Finance partner to the Concerts team, be a team player and build strong relationships with both internal and external global partners providing financial support while acting as a change agent to challenge the status quo.

  • Ad hoc reporting, in support of the Concerts business. Provide data driven analysis in pursuit of strategic insight.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 2+ years of finance or accounting experience with keen interest in Entertainment / Music

  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel modeling skills required.

  • Experience in enterprise level systems such as SAP, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, Alteryx or experience in similarly related systems

  • Strong working knowledge in key accounting principles

  • Excellent communication and leadership skillset with a constructive curiosity to drive change

  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to autonomously and diplomatically work through problems

  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects under tight deadlines

  • Flexibility in role and duties given the evolving music industry landscape

  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline

The hiring range for this position in CA is $92,742.00 – $124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
