The Quality and Process Improvement team plays a key role in supporting strategic and operational initiatives for the Disney Financial Systems (DFS) and Disney Worldwide Shared Services (DWSS) organizations. The Financial Systems Analyst will provide support for ongoing process improvement, reporting and internal tool support for DWSS. The selected individual will participate in accounting- and technology-related projects to improve operational efficiency and enhance service delivery. The Analyst will identify and document process changes that allow business groups to deliver value and efficiency in decision making and will assist team members in supporting internally-developed tools for a variety of shared services functions.
This is a temporary role reporting to the Financial Systems Manager.
The Financial Systems Analyst will partner with a variety of internal departments for:
Collaborate with internal teams to identify operational issues and concerns, and develop organized change strategies that improve efficiency or enhance service delivery.
Interpret historical data or perform process/gap analysis to evaluate problems and causes for which procedural or system changes are required.
Use creativity and analytical thinking to evaluate solution alternatives, and develop recommendations.
Develop and use work aids, such as process descriptions, checklists, templates and guides for process, reporting or system changes.
Assist team members with documenting SQL data models and existing operational reports to achieve ongoing process improvement goals.
Identify and document business and functional process flows for internally developed system upload procedures.
Coordinate the testing of data upload automation modifications to verify changes meet design requirements.
Assist other team members to configure, monitor and trouble-shoot data extract, transform, and load (ETL) tasks for internally-developed tools.
Minimum of one year professional experience working on technology-enabled process improvement efforts involving accounting processes and/or data
Minimum of one year financial experience with SAP or another ERP system
Demonstrated advanced computer proficiency with Excel (Pivot, Functions, Macro), Visio and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
Demonstrated strong analytical skills
Proven ability in making customers the key focus for decisions about business processes (i.e. Customer Focus)
High level energy, self-direction and motivation
Formal business improvement , project management or business methodology accreditation (e.g. LEAN Six Sigma, Black/Green Belt, PMP or similar)
Experience utilizing SQL database (MS SQL, Oracle, My SQL, SSRS) platforms
Experience working with business intelligence/data warehousing and reporting systems (e.g. BW, Crystal Reports, MS SQL Report Builder or similar)
Experience in using Business Objects, Tableau and/or Cognos reporting tools
Proficiency in data modeling/data mining
Experience implementing financial processes and systems
Experience working with WinShuttle or another business process automation tool
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
