ACCN (ACC Network) is ESPN’s newest multi-platform network launching August 2019. Showcasing 27 varsity sports from the Atlantic Coast Conference, ACCN will super-serve ACC fans like never before by shining a spotlight on the conference that’s earned 471 national titles, its rivalries and traditions. In addition to football and basketball, ACCN will feature live games and extensive coverage of lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, softball, baseball and more along with ACC Championships. Original content and studio shows will provide fans inside access, analysis and storytelling all year long. ACC student-athletes, the universities, fans and ACCN employees alike are integral to building this network through innovation and excellence.

The Atlantic Coast Conference was established in 1953 and consists of 15 member institutions: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Florida State, NC State, Syracuse, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame (excluding football), Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. The Coordinator, Sports Marketing will support the brand team in the development and execution of marketing strategies and multi-platform promotional plans for the ACC Network (launching August 2019). The position reports to the Manager, Sports Marketing – ACC Network and is based in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the development of the ACC Network’s marketing strategy and promotional plans and lead all campaign execution.

  • Lead development of marketing briefs to internal and external partners in support of priority programming and creative development from inception to approvals and execution.

  • Manage day-to-day relationship with external and internal creative partners including the planning and management of full timeline.

  • Pre-production and production logistics and timelines supporting live action and photography shoots.

  • Lead weekly planning meetings with cross functional teams (Programming, Production, Affiliate) to ensure alignment on plans and initiatives for brand, digital, and social integration.

  • Provide detailed performance analysis of all Marketing plans and initiatives.

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of ACC Network marketing strategies and plans including:

  • Plan scheduling and delivery of marketing assets with Media partners

  • Member-institution communication and toolkit development

  • Affiliate campaign development and asset delivery

  • Coordinate creative requests and projects

  • Facilitate content and video footage gathering; Footage and music clearances

  • Work with production feature producers and event coordinating producers as needed

  • Maintain marketing budget and process of all invoices/payments to vendors

  • Create, collaborate and contribute to ACC Network social media efforts

  • Coordinate and support Marketing activations

  • Be the resident ACC sports expert

Basic Qualifications :

  • 1-2 years of related marketing/advertising required with an understanding of marketing fundamentals, including strategic and creative development, creative evaluation, and budget management.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (copywriting experience a plus)

  • Effective time management and organizational skills – ability to prioritize and multi-task on a high profile, high volume portfolio

  • Strong work ethic. Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done

  • Demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of ESPN’s unique brand voice

  • Is a passionate sports fan with a comprehensive knowledge of the College Sports, the Atlantic Coast Conference and 15 Member-Institutions.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Holds self and others accountable for creative and executional excellence.

  • Embraces and passionate about social media. Knowledge of and understanding of all social media platforms.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Adobe Suite experience desired.
