TOPIC AREAS OF INTEREST:
Machine Learning - Resident will assist in research projects examining how machine learning can be used to create more efficient workflows and creativity in our movie making process. These projects will have access to unique datasets and problems ranging from animation to geometry processing
Rendering - Resident will explore areas that make our rendering systems more efficient and expressive. Topics include better sampling strategies, improved material models, and denoising
Simulation - Resident will investigate and develop state of the art simulation techniques that allow our artists to create the interesting and visually complex look of our films. Topics include new physical models in solid and fluid mechanics, as well as robustness, efficiency, and art directability for simulation
Applicants should have completed or will soon complete their Ph.D. studies. A strong background in computer graphics, simulation, or machine learning is expected. The position is full-time for up to 2 years, re-evaluated annually.
