The Walt Disney Company Technical Director Intern, Sets Model – Winter 2020 in Emeryville, California
Construct architectural and organic looking models and environments, using both manual and procedural techniques.
Working with Technical Leads, review and revise work to gain Production Designer and Director approval.
Implement modeling and shading variations to provide objects with the desired look for set or scene you are building.
Build clean and efficient assets and support downstream departments.
You have experience programming in C/C++ and/or a scripting language such as Python.
You demonstrate a strong sense of aesthetic and understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, lighting, texture, and form.
Ability to follow art direction but also demonstrate initiative.
Ability to visualize a three-dimensional environment derived from two-dimensional drawings.
Experience using 3D software packages like Houdini, Maya, Katana, RenderMan, etc.
Experience using Unix/Linux systems.
You are working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Digital Art or a related field; recent grads within first year since graduation are also eligible to apply.
You are able to demonstrate your aesthetic via your online demo reel.
You are available to work full-time Mon - Fri for 12-weeks between January 2020 – April 2020.
