Disney Entertainment Metadata and Media Management Specialist in Glendale, California

ABC Owned Television Stations is looking for a dynamic, motivated Metadata and Media Management Specialist to join our team. The Metadata and Media Management Specialist reports to the Manager, Content Systems Engineering and works with teams across all stations as a key member of the Content Development and Engineering Teams.

What You Will Do:

The Metadata and Media Management Specialist will run the day-to-day administration and maintenance of media metadata records for content produced by the Owned Stations as well as support the distribution of content to strategic partners in and outside of The Walt Disney Company. This individual will help develop standard processes for high-volume media management alongside our content and technology teams and collaborate with station partners to train and support the entire content creation lifecycle, from ingest to distribution.

In addition you will:

  • Manage incoming media and metadata from content teams across multiple locations and time zones

  • Partner with the Director of Content Operations and the Content Systems Engineering team to establish and implement a new vision for metadata collection and media management

  • Help create and maintain a centralized media archive & lead metadata and media delivery to all distribution endpoints

  • Work with content distribution partners to ensure they have deliverables on time

  • Assist in training content teams on new media management and metadata collection best practices

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 3 years relevant experience in a news and/or production operation

  • Understanding of encoding formats and file delivery systems

  • Experience managing metadata within a content management system

  • Understanding of file storage and media management concepts

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and other non-linear editing tools a major plus

Education:

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $84,500 to $113,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
