The Walt Disney Company Project Manager, Digital & Learning in Glendale, California

Creative Operations is dedicated to supporting global publishers with their product development and approvals.

The Digital and Learning Project Manager will facilitate approvals on submissions and assets for print, digital and learning products, supporting licensees with publishing plan approvals and providing them with all of the necessary information about branding, art, and editorial they need to create Disney, Pixar, Lucas, and Marvel products.

This position is based in Glendale, CA and reports to the Creative Operations manager.

Responsibilities :

  • Understand various types of publications ats and determine the most efficient routing path for approval.

  • Provide feedback to licensees from our Publishing stakeholders using language/vocabulary these digital/New Business licensees will understand, at times “translating” for both the licensee and the creative stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with Publishing creative stakeholders and Games creative stakeholders to enable the most expedient product development approval process

  • Work with external teams (Marvel, Lucas, Pixar, Brand Management, Legal, etc.) to secure approvals.

  • Review all submissions before they are returned to licensees in order to ensure that comments are clear, coherent, and that no questions are left unanswered. (Return to stakeholders for clarification; facilitate conversations when conflicting feedback is given.)

  • Familiarize these non-traditional licensees with systems, processes, and the “Disney way”

  • Secure reference/source materials from various content providers around the company (including the Games team) for use in products with 3-D animation and non-traditional (non-print) applications

  • Provide general support to licensees with day-to-day inquiries, which are related to systems, creative/assets and process/schedule; Work with Commercialization team (domestic and international) as well as Creative Operations manager to address concerns/issues that arise

Basic Qualifications :

  • 2+ years project management experience

  • At least 2 years product development experience, preferably with digital products

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to work independently under pressure and within tight deadlines

  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

  • Highly organized with an excellent attention to detail

  • Problem solver with a “can do” attitude

Required Education :

  • B.A. or equivalent experience
