This position will manage data analysis aspects for the Programming function of the Disney SVOD service. The Sr. Manager, Data will be responsible for partnering with the Director, Programming as well as leading a team, to track progress in real-time against KPIs for the service, and to contribute analyses and strategies that drive the growth of the business. This is a highly cross-functional position, working across teams to build reports, package insights, and lead experiments that ultimately lead to business growth. This position will be a key partner in the organization for driving evidence-based decisions around content, audience and product.
Build, manage and develop team of data scientists and analysts responsible for delivering reporting, insights and strategic recommendations. Manage data visualization and reporting dashboards for the Disney SVOD business, including but not limited to, acquisition and retention tracking, digital marketing effectiveness, and content consumption.
Contribute thought leadership on KPIs, benchmarking and measuring the health of various business drivers.
Partner with central data & analytics team on the development of the underlying data infrastructure and metadata approach, as well as the roadmap for the development of data visualization tools and dashboards.
Identify opportunities to optimize and maximize our programming strategy based on insights, and effectively package and communicate findings about these opportunities to relevant stakeholders in the organization.
Act as day-to-day lead within Programming function with relevant disciplines (scheduling, merchandising, etc.), providing pertinent feedback and data to help inform business decisions.
Explore, analyze and synthesize content consumption data, product data, and market research in order to develop actionable recommendations for the business. Package complex data into clear and actionable insights for key stakeholders, including executives across the company
Oversee large and cross-functional department wide projects
Manage investments and partnerships with third party tools and measurement vendors for the function
Basic Qualifications :
10+ years of experience, with extensive experience in data visualization, predictive modeling, and business reporting, ideally in digital media and entertainment, with SVOD experience preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a team management role
Analytically-minded leader with a demonstrated track record of team building and implementing successful data driven teams
Advanced data literacy with experience analyzing large datasets using SQL and Tableau or other BI and/or data visualization tools; Python or SAS, preferred.
Significant experience working with relational databases and SQL. Experience with working in cloud based environments a plus.
Expertise in statistical analysis approaches.
Ability to develop strategies by extracting insights from a diverse portfolio of data sources
Meticulous attention to detail, yet capable of being able to synthesize complex, detail heavy projects in way which effectively resonates with creative and non-technical audiences
Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects
Highly developed written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management in a professional and engaging fashion

Preferred Education :
BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, political science or similar quantitative field
Quantitative oriented masters, or advanced degree, and/or MBA preferred.
