The Walt Disney Company Costume Documentation Manager - Temporary Assignment (TA)/Project Hire (PH) in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

The Costume Documentation Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the team is consistent in the delivery of various documents pertinent to the costume production process. This includes that the documents themselves are also consistent and meet our Disney Live Entertainment documentation guidelines. Candidates will know PLMs and related technology.

This position will report to the Area Manager of Costume Production.

This position is temporary with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and mentor 15 or more hourly union cast members

  • Ensure timely delivery of documentation for costume design, development, and production teams

  • Track project hours and ensure accurate charging

  • Interface closely with various Systems and Technology teams for various programs the team uses

  • Monitor project timelines and results

  • Facilitate meetings with various partners to gain an understanding of various projects and results

  • Keep informed of new and emerging technologies that could improve current business practices

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 1+ years leading union employees in a creative and technical environment

  • 1+ years experience with Collective Bargaining agreements

  • Experience being responsible for a budget and reporting out variances

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience communicating (both verbal and written) with all levels of partners

  • Experience supervising team workflows and assisting in prioritizing collision points

  • Ability to work around all types of fabrics, fibers, and furs

  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Walt Disney World Collective Bargaining agreements

  • Experience with SAP, Yunique (PLM), JIRA, GUS+, and other industry-specific programs and how they work with one another

  • Experience in the apparel industry

  • Experience with graphic design

  • Experience collaborating and partnering with international partners

  • Experience managing Intellectual Property (IP) and brand management


  • Advanced degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Theater, Business Management, Merchandising, Graph Design, or equivalent is required
