The Walt Disney Company QE Sr Technical Manager in New York, New York

The QE (Quality of Experience) Senior Technical Manager Specialist will be a member of a highly-motivated team. This role will develop, enhance, and sustain innovative solutions to improve the customer’s quality of experience.

Reporting to Director of Media Operations, Sr Technical Manager will be responsible for all Technology decisions within QE (Quality of Experience) Teams, such as Automation, KPI, and general Operational tooling.

This position will Integrate media and data analytics, product metrics, user experience research, and competitive analysis into KPI development and tracking. Develop and evaluate trends KPI's post launch and leverage these insights to inform product decisions for future phases. Provide consistent training, support, and mentorship to team. Fairly and consistently ensure compliance with core engineering's policies and procedures

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for collaboration and communication with various teams as needed

  • Provide guidance and insight to upper management and procure buy-in

  • Report progress, including any changes made to plans and production

  • Contribute to product design and establishment of requirements

  • Delegate technical responsibilities and monitor progress of projects

  • Oversee user testing and report results—adjust requirements as needed

  • Work closely with project team during all phases of development lifecycle

  • Review all work produced by supporting teams

  • Ensure code produced meets company standards

  • Conduct regular status meetings with all necessary stakeholders

Basic Qualifications :

  • Specific experience with mobile app, video, OTT development

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology field

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in management

  • Ability to work in high-pressure, deadline driven environment

  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills

  • Solid working knowledge in all required software and programming languages

Outstanding leaderships skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively

  • Informed decision making skills based on best practices, analytics, industry / technology trends

  • High energy, strong collaborative team player, technical intuition, creative thinker and strategic influencer

  • Demonstrated experience playing a leadership role across a broad set of cross-functional technical and business teams

  • Ability to speak fluently with engineers and understand technical tradeoffs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field

  • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, a plus
