Disney Streaming is responsible for developing and operating The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer video businesses globally, including the ESPN+ premium sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; the upcoming Disney streaming service, Disney+; and BAMTECH Media, a global leader in direct-to-consumer video streaming products and solutions. In addition to first-party apps, Disney Streaming operates the flagship NHL app and out-of-market package, NHL.TV, in partnership with the National Hockey League. Its core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time or location.

We are seeking an experienced, data-driven Senior Consumer Insights Manager. Working on the Disney+ marketing team within Disney Streaming Services in New York, this individual will be responsible for gathering insights on our subscribers and prospects to help us attract, convert and retain subscribers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research, has worked on a digital direct-to-consumer service, ideally in the entertainment space, and a proven track record of using customer data to drive key business decisions.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with senior management and cross-functional teams to identify business priorities and focus for consumer insights efforts

  • Represent the voice of the consumer in the organization, ensuring that research and behavioral data are both evaluated when making business decisions

  • Recommend and select research methodologies and vendors that meet needs of the team

  • Use mix of quantitative and qualitative research, and primary and secondary data sources, to help build a pool of customer data and insights

  • Oversee brand health tracking, monitoring aided and unaided awareness, brand attributes, brand position within the competitive landscape, etc

  • Track customer satisfaction, gathering data points from surveys, social, customer service and behavioral data to understand drivers of customer satisfaction and causes of churn

  • Develop primary research roadmap, in close collaboration with Content, Marketing and Product teams. Ensure that insights and research and servicing all areas of the organization

  • Translate research into actionable insights, packaging research findings and recommendations for all stakeholders

  • Collaborate with other internal consumer insights teams to identify opportunities for synergy, shared resource, and pooling insights to tell a larger story

Basic Qualifications :

  • 8+ years consumer insight experience, either within an entertainment company or at an agency servicing entertainment partners

  • Well versed in various marketing research methodologies, with equal comfort in qual and quant, and ability to make strategic recommendations based on the business needs

  • Excellent reporting skills: ability to distill raw data into actionable insights, and create clear, concise and actionable reports

  • Highly cross-functional: experience servicing multiple teams, and adapting insights for each audience

  • Self-starting initiative, and comfort navigating white space

  • A can-do, positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done

  • Obsession with making customers happy, and strong opinions about good customer experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working on a subscription service

  • Personal affinity for the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company.
