Business Operations is the glue of DE&E Technology, with a relentless focus on connecting all the pieces of the business. All the components that make up the organization – engineering, product, design, operations, support and more – come together and move the business forward with oversight, effective prioritization, and guidance. This team synthesizes information from across the business to ensure leaders are armed with all the necessary data before making strategic and financial decisions. From forecasting, funding, tracking, and reporting on projects, to ways of working, and resource management, Business Operations has visibility and input into all aspects of the team.Business Operations is responsible for global program and project management, capital and portfolio management, resource prioritization, tracking and communication of performance, administrative services, AOP & LRP Planning, Space Management, and other key functions critical to the operation of DE&E Technology division. This position is part of the Global Program Management team which manages the execution of DE&E Technology programs, including scope, delivery schedules and budgets in addition to identifying dependencies, managing risks and quantifying business impact. This role collaborates with Product, Engineering and QA to understand and rationalize strategic roadmaps while providing easy to understand, transparent reporting to leadership during delivery.

Disney ESPN and Entertainment Technology (DE&ET) is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Technical Program Management team. You’ll be responsible for managing the software engineering team(s) developing the Android app for Disney+, particularly focused on the Content Discovery powering user engagement. You’ll also function as the primary contact for Product, Design, QA and other partner teams. You will help ensure our teams are aligned with the product roadmap and deliver best-in-class consumer applications for all of our products.

  • Responsible for developing a roadmap for the team and keeping it in line with the priorities defined by product

  • Facilitate and solidify project processes by creating, managing, and updating documentation

  • Keep stakeholders informed of day-to-day project statuses, updates, and risks

  • Cultivate relationships across engineering and technical teams while serving directly as the end-to-end liaison

  • Identify solution paths for competing requirements while managing stakeholder preferences

  • Demonstrate product knowledge, and facilitate the development of requirements in consideration of known technical capabilities and limitations

  • Work with backend and service teams to establish the needs of your team, continually communicate risks to all stakeholders, and facilitate discussions to help remove blockers

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience as a Project Manager managing lar

  • Strong understanding of technical architecture and workflow for system/domain of the team(s) and identify potential impacts to components of those systems based on requirements.

  • Experience running a consumer application development project through the entire SDLC

  • Knowledge of project management processes including Agile, Kanban, Waterfall

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required

The hiring range for this position in New York City is $129,900 -$174,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
