The Walt Disney Company Technical Estimator–Walt Disney World Central Shops in Orlando, Florida
We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for manufacturing by gathering information and analyzing important data. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must be thorough and have great relationship skills. The goal is to provide detailed, accurate estimates so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance success and growth.
Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors.
Understand the project and its requirements.
Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouse or other venues.
Conduct research to obtain data on labor cost, materials, production times, etc.
Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
Create and submit estimates or bids to Central Shops partners, as well as clients internal to The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates.
Basic Qualifications :
Proven experience as a technical estimator, technical planner, or similar position.
Demonstrated understanding of financial and project management principles.
In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
Excellent mathematical skills and an analytical mindset.
Proficient in relevant software (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Maximo, project management/scheduling software such as Microsoft project or Primavera, Solidworks, AutoCAD)
Great communication skills.
Thoroughness, reliability, and integrity.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to interpret drawings and break scope of work down to manageable segments.
Ability to work well with diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to quickly adapt to varying project disciplines. i.e. switch from metal fabrication, to fiberglass, to scenic finishing, to machining, etc.
Talent for creative writing enabling ability to provide written intent of scope and qualifications.
Familiarity with various types of manufacturing methods and equipment.

Required Education :
- High School Degree or equivalent
Preferred Education :
- Two or Four year degree in manufacturing, construction, estimating, or related field.
